Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) Manager


Currently hiring for the role of Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) Manager in the Digital and Mobile Department in Dublin for a prestigious airline company.

The successful candidate will manage the development arm of our Enterprise Service Bus and overall Integration Strategy.

You will work with Applications teams to create a services oriented architecture and will provide a decoupled middleware environment allowing the airline to retire and introduce new systems and platforms in a faster more reliable approach.


Key Responsibilities & Duties Include:

Supply and develop a resilient dependable ESB platform to deliver many strategically critical projects for our web site and mobile applications

Manage end to end delivery of Enterprise Service Bus development and rollout

Establish and Manage Enterprise Service delivery team to deliver key strategic projects 

Liaising with large technology partners on major purchases such as IBM, Oracle, Microsoft and VmWare

Modernise our software landscape and leverage value from legacy systems such as Astral to enable key customer facing functionality for online Passenger Check In and customer facing mobile applications

Preparing and presenting business cases for large scale Digital and Mobile projects for executive approval

Create an information systems environment that results in outstanding customer satisfaction

Develop robust processes in conjunction with all IT teams to ensure improved software quality and sustainability

Collaborate with project managers and business unit leaders to design solutions that are economic and align with enterprise policy

Assess and determine governance, stewardship, and frameworks for managing information systems and data across the organisation

Monitor air transport industry developments, assessing their impact, and their applicability to the airline company (P(C)SS, IATA and other regulations and standards, security, passenger services, SITA, ARINC, GDS etc.)


To be considered for the role of ESB Manager, candidates must meet the following:

Essential Criteria:

Senior managerial experience managing large high performing highly skilled technical resources

In depth knowledge of the Airline industry and its commercial and customer experience aspects

Excellent knowledge of Airline Passenger Services Systems and their implementation

Professional IT qualification and/or extensive experience in development and information technology 

In depth experience of virtualization, cloud computing, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), and data warehousing technologies

In depth experience of full software lifecycle management including onshore/offshore collaboration
