Financial Accountant 

Location: Drogheda, Co Louth

Our client is looking for a Financial Accountant who could be responsible of overseeing the management of the GL & Reporting functions for the French Retail business. Assisting the Head of Finance with preparation of financial information for internal & external reporting. This role is reporting to Head of Finance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the HOF with month end reporting to the Group, including, preparation of monthly management accounts, monthly trading commentary & monthly checklists 
  • Supporting in preparation of annual financial statements & related schedules
  • Co-ordinating with auditors (internal/ external)
  • Management of the month-end close process, co-ordination with other members of the finance team to ensure timely completion of month-end tasks
  • Ensuring compliance with all financial control requirements (e.g. manual journals, key account reconciliations)
  • Assistance with tax returns
  • Support the French business/tax advisors in ensuring that AO, property taxes & rates are correct/ on time
  • Ensuring that all lease/rental payments are correct & are made on time
  • Support on ad hoc projects

Competencies Required:

  • Qualified accountant with 2+ years PQ experience (preferably with industry/retail)
  • Excellent communication/organisational skills in order to meet tight deadlines
  • Demonstrates high levels of personal & professional standards
  • Ability to take ownership, be proactive & achieve desired results
  • Possesses strong financial acumen
  • Proficient with Microsoft products
  • Experience of SAP an advantage
  • French speaker an advantage
